Tonics for Lyme disease or chronic infections
Botanical Health’s founder Jane is a Medical herbalist, Naturopath and has personally experienced the long journey of healing from chronic Lyme disease.
These specialised plant botanical formulations are based on scientific research on how bacteria survive, act and grow within the human body. They have an antibacterial action to help kill off the bacteria whilst supporting the Immune system.
To help explain how these formulation work it is best to explain the mechanisms on how bacteria spread and survive within the human host.
Planktonic (free floating) Bacteria like to attach and adhere themselves to surfaces and initate the expression of gene cassettes that make up the biofilm phenotype. Quorum sensing is where bacteria use a two component transmitter receiver regulatory system to transfer environmental stimuli into phenotypic change. This signal emitted by the bacteria attracts more to the area and the concentration of the signal continues to rise making a colony of bacteria working together making them much more powerful; causing more disruption and disease within the body. A biofilm or a protective layer is then built around these colonies making them antibiotic resistant. they are When bacteria are planktonic (free floating) they are a lot easier to get rid of.
